Having studied at Peabody Conservatory, University of Washington, Renton Technical College and King County Bar Association, Avi has earned her BA Education, MMA Clarinet/Oboe, Diploma Band Instrument Repair and Certificate Guardian ad Litem. She has performed as a member of Gettysburg Symphony Orchestra, Maryland Clarinet Choir and Lyric Theater Pit Orchestra.
She has extensive experience planning and managing resident camps for two Seattle congregations and the Mercer Island Community Center. She has taught in the Seattle Public Schools and teaches private wind instrument instruction and small ensembles at Click Music on Whidbey Island.
Avi has pursued Child Advocacy and Disabilities Advocacy both in her professional careers with Head Start, CPS, Navy New Parent Support Team and Island County Court and in her personal life as a volunteer with PAVE and Parent-to-Parent.
